Autism Resources

Finding the right resources for teaching ABA can be time-consuming and frustrating. A set of flashcards will come in useful, but often you will end up making your own. Here are some images and activities I have created for our own use.

The Sweetie Game

This is a simple card game to promote waiting and turn-taking. Put the cards face down and take turns at picking one up. Say, for example, "Mummy's turn", "Jo's turn" each time. When the card comes up give him a sweet or other favourite treat, provided he has waited for his go.

If your child dislikes being tickled, substitute a picture of a favourite toy and give him this. Waiting and turn-taking is quite difficult, even though the game seems very easy. Your child may be ready for this if he can sit still and name objects.
